Unlike Urgent Care Centers or other limited hour facilities, NEC, similar to any emergency room of any hospital
incurs greater expenses. It is therefore necessary for costs to reflect the increased expense of more
sophisticated equipment, greater degree of training, and the expense of remaining open and staffing the
facility 24/7.
CoPays are expected to be paid at the time of service as with your family or primary care physician.
If your deductible has not been met than you will receive a bill that your health insurance will not pay.
It is very important that you become familiar with your own personal and family health plan.
NEC welcomes Medicare patients and will accept whatever Medicare approves for services rendered. Although
they pay some of the physician charges, Medicare does not reimburse the facility for nursing care, supplies
and medications. However, you will not be responsible for the balance.
DPCI, DiamondState, and Traditional Medicaid all have contracts with NEC and medical care provided here is
covered through your insurance. The newest Medicaid company in Delaware, Unison, also provides reimbursement
to the Center.
